Playing with ladybugs in their backyard, a sister and a brother conclude that all ladybugs have black spots on their red wings. They note that the two colors are just like the two genders.
One day, their entomologist aunt takes them to her workplace, where they learn that ladybugs come in more than just two colors. In the same way, the siblings learn that people have more than two genders and that love comes in many colors, just like the ladybugs and their aunt.
The world has so many possibilities and ways of life to discover, way beyond our original assumptions.
"Love Has Many Colours" is one of the books in the first series of social-driven picture books, Wadwang Nangsue, that have stirred the traditional view and expectation of children's books in Thailand. The two book sets attempt not only to develop the children but also to move the whole society forward to the kinder and more open-minded ideal.
