A lonely water buffalo is desperate to find a friend.
But when the Myna bird jumps on his back and offers her friendship,
the buffalo is reluctant. He doesn't like having strangers touching him!
So the bird steps back a bit and starts introducing herself (and her bug-free service) again.
Will they eventually become friends?
 
This poetry book illustrated the bonding between the two animals,
commonly seen in rice fields in South East Asia, specifically Thailand.
They depend on each other the same way as we, human, build our friendship.
